Brake Lines
8/15/2005 Brake lines are available with Ron at G503.com/parts. I found that these lines fit great, and better than the ones I took off. Here you see the easiest of them all to install the rear line. Line up the pieces and screw the brass fittings in. Don't put the teflon seal on the threads as the brake fluid will eat through it.
8/15/2005 The hoses in the brake kit are all unique in size so its pretty easy to get them installed correctly. I laid out all of my pieces first before installing. Here you see the rear hose and line.
8/15/2005 One the front line assembly, there are some S shape lines. I noticed before installing that the existing ones were a bit longer. But the new ones fit better.
8/15/2005 The lengths on the larger pieces such as this rear driver side fit great. With everything else in this project I expected some frustration, but it all fit well.
8/15/2005 The hoses on the front fit well with the front line assembly.
8/15/2005 Front axle assembly had no problems, each line fit snug an lined up great.
8/15/2005 Another look at the front end assembly, you see everything lines up with the tee just fine.
8/15/2005 Passenger side looks good also, need ti install the clamps and the holders, but other than that it looks great.
8/15/2005 The Front assembly finishes from the axle to the master cylinder. My master cylinder needs to be replaced, so its not hooked up.
8/15/2005 The trickest of the install is the long rear crossmember piece to the master cylinder. You have to fit this in through the frame and it ends up inside of the crossmember. Next picture shows how it goes inside the frame.
8/15/2005 It takes a little work to get the brake line on the inside of the frame and around the exhaust pipe at the rear axle. If you work with it from the back of the crossmember and then feed it to the front, it tends to work without much effort.
