Here is the jeep as purchased in Sacramento area.
10/2/2004 Here is the jeep as purchased a 1945 Ford GPW. At first glance you see a few things that are incorrect on the jeep, but further examination, you can see there are many Ford orginal parts thus bring the value worth the cost at $2500.
10/2/2006 As you can see, an enormous amount of steel placed on the front horns. Further inspection showed that the front horns will need to be replaced as they were bent beyond economical repair.
10/2/2006 The dash had most original equipment, a couple incorrect gauges, an extra hole, but most items are original in this section
10/2/2006 Incorrect fuel tank, and fair amount of rust on tank sump side (typical), seat were f marked and in decent condition.
10/2/2006 Like the front, the back is incorrect. Should be a panel, not tailgate, and the lights are incorrect. Between the front and back, there would be a large amount of work to bring this back to specifications.
10/2/2006 Another picture of back. This jeep did run, but not very well. In 4WD it had a grinding sound, but in 2WD it ran.
10/2/2006 On the driver side, the tank sump was rusted and patched. This would take a fair amount of work to fix. Note: some of the holes for items were welded shut.
10/2/2006 Engine was converted to 12volt, and had a Willy's head, but a GPW block. There were a fair amount of F marks around this jeep making the value worth more.
10/2/2006 One of the selling points for me was the extra parts that came with it. The owner had the 6v generator and regulator with additional parts in this crate. So converting back to 6v (which I would), added value to this project.
10/2/2006 Another look at engine... Air filter, oil filter, and little items looked good. It has a Willy's radiator (good shape), no horn, and hood has some bad welding on it.
10/2/2006 Here you see the stress of this front bumper on the horns... why someone would do this is beyond comprehension. This project came with 4 combat rims, one non-combat.
10/2/2006 Well after inspection, it looked to be a lot of work to restore, but worth the cost.
